What Is A Fanlisting?

"A fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are), they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans." - TFL.org

What Is This Fanlisting About?

Golloptuous is a fanlisting for Elinor M. Brent-Dyer, a girl's fiction author. Brent-Dyer, or EBD as she is known to her fans, operated between 1924 and 1968 during which time she penned over one hundred books, mainly school stories. She is most famous for her Chalet School and La Rochelle series. For more information about EBD and her books, I suggest you check out the menu to your right, Friends of the Chalet School or The New Chalet Club.

Why 'Golloptuous'?

The title of this site, Golloptuous, is a slang term used by Joey Bettany in one of the early Chalet School books. Quite simply, it stuck in my head!

The fansite portion of the site contains information first gathered for my no-longer-updated Chalet School fansite, The Chalet School Journal.
Version 1.0 of the site used the Nina K. Brisley dustwrapper for The Chalet School in the Oberland, and the fonts ChopinScript and Verdana.
